THE LATEST BOARD REPORT…
December 8, 2011
The Board of Directors met on Thursday, December 8 for a combined November/December meeting with President Joe Strong presiding. We welcomed new board members Ruth Johnson, Lisa Heldke, Max Hailperin, Jesse Ellerbroek, (Stephen Grams in absentia) to their first full-fledged meeting. Board officers were chosen: Vice President, Jesse Ellerbroek; Treasurer, Tressa Bushaw; Membership Secretary, Max Hailperin; Secretary, Renee Bryant. The board will hold its annual retreat in January facilitated by Nina Johnson of Cooperative Board Leadership Development (CBLD). Nina joined us for this meeting as we discussed topics for focus in the coming year designated ‘The Year of the Cooperative’ worldwide. Also, we hope to hold informal gatherings, ‘Coffee With Your Board’, in the store dining area approximately monthly so that Board and Member-Owners can chat about our cooperative, discuss our vision for maintaining SPFC as a vital community presence, and educate ourselves about ‘cooperation’ as an economic model and community resource.
